So I've been thinking about the Little Drummer Boy carol. It doesn't say anywhere that he was any good. Just that he "played his best."

Maybe this Christmas song isn't so syrupy sweet at all. I can't get the image out of my head of some horrible drummer banging away and scaring all the goats.

I feel like a dick. I know I'm one most of the time anyway, but now my head's getting all naggy about it. I think that's supposed to be guilt. I hope this isn't what maturing's supposed to be like.

I'm a guy. Not a man, not a dude. A guy. I feel like the word has certain connotations. Like men wear suits and carry briefcases. Guys are more into working with physical stuff, then plop down on the couch in the evenings to watch tv while the men are still on their crackberries checking their stocks.
